Ida Abimbola MCIOB is the Founder and Principal Consultant of AKO Compliance & Planning, bringing extensive experience in construction management, procurement, commercial governance, compliance, and project delivery across both public and private sector environments.
As a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Ida is recognised for her professional competence, ethical leadership, and commitment to excellence within the built environment. Her expertise spans project governance, contract administration, procurement strategy, compliance assurance, and integrated management systems, enabling organisations to deliver projects with confidence, control, and accountability.
Ida’s understanding of the construction industry was shaped from an early age through a multi-generational family background in construction and building supply. This early exposure provided valuable insight into site operations, project delivery, procurement processes, and commercial management, laying the foundation for a career dedicated to improving project outcomes through robust governance and effective planning.
She combines practical industry experience with strong academic and professional credentials, including a Postgraduate-Level qualification in Senior Construction Management and a BA (Hons) in Business & Management. Her professional development is further supported by specialist qualifications in procurement, contract management, compliance, and integrated management systems.
In addition to holding a CSCS Black Manager Card and SMSTS certification, Ida possesses competencies aligned with internationally recognised standards, including ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
