K for Karim – a pioneer in construction and materials supply
O for Okoro, our family name, carried with pride and integrity
Together, AKO is more than a business name it’s a living symbol of three generations of builders who shaped homes, families, and communities through resilience, skill, and service.
Where It All Started
It began with Karim Okoro, who ran one of the first full-service construction supply shops in his region, offering everything from bricks and cement to plumbing, electricals, and paints. Beyond supplying materials, he led projects from the ground up with a reputation for trust and delivery.
His daughter, Ayiba Okoro, later took the helm. Despite lacking formal education, she proved to be a natural leader, sourcing materials, managing builds, and completing projects to a high professional standard. Her name became synonymous with integrity and quality in the local building community.
